| Exodus 13:17 - 15:26 Numbers 28:19 - 25 Ezekiel 36:37-37:14 Luke 16 We Can Only Imagine The Song of Moses is a song of great hope. It gives us confidence in the past miracles of our God. But that confidence of the past brings even greater confidence of our future. We see the events of the first Exodus and how HaShem brought His people out of bondage with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. We read of the great signs, wonders and miracles of the past and know the God of the first Exodus is a God who does not change. What He has done in the past, He will once again do in the days to come. He has promised us this in Jeremiah 23, the promises of the second and greater Exodus. What is the exodus all about though? Is it simply about bringing us out of the bondages of this world or is there more? I believe the answer to this question is found within the words of the Song of Moses, the song which will be sung again in the end of this age by those who have walked through the time of Jacob's Trouble! That is a hint to get accustomed to the words of the song now. In Exodus 15:17 Moses gives us the clue to the question when he speaks of a planting on the mountain of His heritage. To anyone who has read Torah this can only mean one place, and that place is Israel, the place Deuteronomy tells us is our inheritance. The House of Israel has been in the land of our inheritance several times in history, but these scriptures are speaking of a time yet to come, a time in which Israel cannot and never will be uprooted again to be driven out of the land because of lack of faith or obedience. These scriptures speak of the day we refer to as the Millennium and the beginning of the reign of our Messiah upon this earth forever and ever. Now that we have established the truth of the past which leads us to this great future, take a journey with me for a few moments to imagine the reality of what lies ahead. For a few minutes, allow the cares and problems of this age to be set aside as you imagine what lies ahead. The setting is somewhere in the future. The awesome and difficult days of the Time of Jacob's Trouble are behind us. He has seen us through the time Yeshua said would be the most difficult of any days the world had ever seen. We have made it, and we are finally HOME! Allow your mind to consider and to even daydream of the day. Here are some thoughts to ponder. The Land of Israel with a beauty not seen for some six thousand years. The enemies of our God are a now distant thought, having been swept away as the chariots of Egyptians were many years past. Jerusalem, the City of Gold arrayed as a bride for her groom. The sound of children playing in the city which is finally “The City of Peace.” A beautiful Temple standing above all other buildings with a majesty no eye has ever seen. The Messiah, Yeshua, seated upon His throne, the Torah as His rule. His eyes of compassion as He teaches us the wonders man has never imagined within the pages of His Word, the pages of Himself. Our preparation for the first of many Feasts, the Feast of Tabernacles. This one will be more special than any for it is the first where truly He will tabernacle with us. Allow yourself on this Shabbat to imagine the day of our planting. Imagine what that day will be like. Allow it to become a part of you way down deep inside, for the days are coming when that hope, that confidence, may be the very thing that gives you strength during each and every day. Truly the dreams of today will bring strength for our every tomorrow, till we are planted on the mountains of our God, never to be uprooted from His presence. What lies ahead, as the song says, "I can only imagine." |
