They Shall Not Escape
This morning I woke to the news that Ted Kennedy had died at age 77. I have to admit that my first thoughts were not directly of him, his destination or his family, but of the media barrage we will have to endure for the next days. Over the next week the media will make this man out to be bigger than life and will before it is all over be asking the Messiah Himself to step down from His position so that Kennedy may take what should in their minds be his, for to many people Kennedy was some sort of messiah figure. Once again we will hear great speeches mixed with just enough religion to make anyone with any amount of spiritual discernment sick to our stomachs. It will be another in the recent line of earthly "Greats" who will be preached right into The Kingdom.

On this earth Ted Kennedy will be remembered as a legend and part of a dynasty. People will parade what they believe to be his great accomplishments. Of course, they will sweep under the rug the fact that he should have spent his life not as a government leader in a suit, but rather behind bars in stripes. There may be some who will bring up the darker side of his life, but in the end they will believe that his "Good Works" outweighed his dark side and in the end he got away with it all.

After I read this news about Kennedy this morning I opened the scripture and read the week's Torah then moved on to the scriptures of John and Jude. I was especially drawn to the scriptures in Jude which speak of the judgment of Egypt and of Sodom and Gomorrah. As I pondered these words of scripture I thought about the man Ted Kennedy. I thought about what his night must have been like last night. For me, I went to sleep and woke to the sound of a cow mooing. Ted Kennedy went to sleep and woke to the eyes of One who does not sweep things under rugs, but rather exposes all sin to the light of His holiness. Today, Ted Kennedy knows he did not get away with anything. His power hungry lifestyle that he abused on this earth is now over for good. His life is now just a vapor of fading memory.

Kennedy is but a sampling of what is going on in our world today. He is an example of evil men who are growing worse and worse. He is but one of a multitude of men and women who are power hungry, evil and full of all manner of ungodliness. He is but one who Paul was speaking of when he wrote about the end of days in 2 Timothy.

It seems today that evil men and women are getting away with their evil deeds upon this earth today. Ever so often though The Almighty brings everything into prospective for us and once again reminds us of the destiny of those who follow their own desires. We will this week watch the media feeding frenzy, but instead of joining in with the applause of the world let us look with eyes on eternity knowing that life is not what you think you got away with here on this earth. Life is about our faith in Yeshua, YHVH in the flesh upon this earth. Life is not about deeds of earthly good, but life is about what He calls good which is as John tells us this week, following His commandments, which are given to us in Torah.

As an endnote to the death of Ted Kennedy. He was a Roman Catholic. To say that he lived a life even remotely associated with the scriptures is in my opinion a great stretch. None of us however know what may have happened between him and his Creator in the last moments of his life. Maybe there was a moment of repentance. If so, then all the evil of his life was in a moment washed away by the blood of Yeshua. On the chance that he did call out to Elohim in those last moments, how tragic it is to live a life for self and as the last moment of a candle blow the smoke of that dead candle to the nostrils of his Maker.

There is much to be thought about with the passing of the one who was called the "Liberal Lion." Maybe the greatest of all lessons is to remember that no matter how big a lion seems to make himself out to be on this earth there is going to be a day that all men will stand before The Lion of the Tribe of Judah and be judged for the works they have committed on this earth. In that day no one will escape the judgment of His wrath, not Egypt, not Sodom and Gomorrah, not Michael Jackson or you and I outside of faith in the work of Yeshua the Messiah; His blood shed for you and I.
