Translation of any document from one age, culture, language and thought pattern to another completely different age, culture, language and thought pattern is not as clear, accurate and logical as we might think at first glance. Further, we no longer have the "original" documents of Scripture.

Translation of Scripture from the age, culture, language and thought patterns of Abraham, Moses, the prophets and Yeshua to those of our day and environment has involved many people, with various philosophies, sundry abilities and limited resources. No wonder we have so many different versions and translations on the shelves of our bookstores.

In the darkness of incomplete and inconclusive knowledge of how the available translations came to be, linguistic scholars of Scripture have a variety of opinions and theories on the linguistic and translational relationships.

Recent (relative to the age of Scripture) findings, linguistic research and inspiration are bringing to us translations that are much closer to the Scriptures Yeshua read, studied and promoted while He was on earth.

Translations of Matthew

Note the predominance of Hebraic and Aramaic resources resulting in the Hebraic Roots Version, especially as contrasted with the predominance of Greek language resources, and therefore of Greek thought, in the King James Version, NIV, and even the Complete Jewish Bible.
